May is once again a Mercury retrograde month as this playful planets does his about face May 6 -30 in Gemini and Taurus. During the first five days of the month get mundane tasks accomplished paying strict attention to the minor details. While Mercury is in Gemini through the 13 try to avoid signing your name on any dotted line. Leave home early and take the early train, plane, or bus as most forms of transportation are delayed when you have appointments to meet on time. Once Mercury backs into Taurus we will be reconsidering our financial picture. Insure that you put your credit card back in your wallet and don’t leave personal information lying around. Once Mercury goes direct May 30 all those little inconveniences sort themselves out with time. By June 16 Mercury gets back to the position where he first went retrograde and life according to Mercury is really back to normal; whatever that may entail.

Saturn, retrograde in Virgo since December 31, goes direct May 16 in Virgo. Virgo especially those born during the first week of September can at last do something about their discontent. Saturn is Capricorn’s ruler so life picks up for goats and they can at last jump over that boulder on the mountain path. Many of us have been holding off on making decisions and taking action due to Saturn being retrograde. At last decisions come about and progress can be made mostly in business. If you have been waiting for bosses or clients to give you the go ahead in any situation that is sure to occur shortly.

Just as Saturn is going direct on the 16th, the Sun in Taurus is square Jupiter and Neptune and sextile Uranus. Life seems as though a damn has burst because the ice is melting. The need and ability to stretch our wings is strong and we can suddenly make progress. Those who have blocked our way suddenly lose the power over us as we stand up for our rights. Taurus, Aquarius, Leo, and Scorpio feel an urgency to do what is right. Many of us will be pushing our ideologies whether for the good or bad of the rest. Four days later on the 20th Mercury comes through and forms the same aspects to Neptune, Jupiter, and Uranus. Ideas are inflated and facts are not totally clear so take you time before acting on offers that seem to be once in a lifetime. That usually means the experience will be enough to last a lifetime.

Finally, the aspect of Mars sextile Neptune and Jupiter May 26, is playing with our energy and emotions. Go with the ebb and flow of life’s events. Legal matters of all sorts may not be what they seem. Do take opportunities to mend fences during these days in the latter days of May.

Jupiter in Aquarius is conjunct Neptune May 27. We will feel this inflationary energy throughout most of 2009. Recognize who is and who is not acting in your best interest. Choose your advisers wisely and take off those rose colored glasses. The smoke will burn your, eyes but you will know the best possible scenario to choose for moving forward throughout the year if you listen to your instincts.

Neptune in Aquarius goes retrograde May 28 to November 24. Puzzling situations are sure to become the norm especially during the last few days of this month. Try not to be offended by what seems to be the wrath of the gods. It is just goofy stuff happening.

May 2
Venus, in Aries, is ninety degrees from Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. All sorts of relationships seem exaggerated or stinging. Try not to be the one who pulls out the claws. Aries, Capricorn, Libra, and Cancer are most susceptible to displaying or receiving bitchy banter.

May 5
The Sun in Taurus is one hundred twenty degrees from Saturn sitting still in Virgo. Making friends with any Saturn aspect is not easy. However, this one is somewhat pleasant as concentration and attention to details come easily. Consider the past when planning for the future. Time spent with a mentor is well spent. Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn are advised to throw away their worries for now.

May 8
The full Moon occurs in Scorpio at 11:01 pm CDT. Scorpio is an intense and passionate sign. This culmination of the lunar cycle is sure to bring about sarcasm and demonstrations by small or large groups. Volcanic explosions, real or symbolic, are conceivable as many of our emotions and the planet erupt. Secrets and espionage will be in the news along with abortion and the age-old issue of death and taxes. Unplug from the rest of the world and attend a good magic show.

May 18
The Sun is conjunct Mercury in Taurus. This is a great day for getting a point across. Since this aspect occurs in Taurus, most of the talk will be about money and financial situations. Virgo and Capricorn are sure to like what they hear while Taurus is just focused on the bottom line. Aquarius, Scorpio, and Leo will not be so happy with news and will struggle with and avalanche of paperwork.

May 20
The Sun enters Gemini until July 20. While the sun moves through Gemini communications of all sorts are highlighted. Gossip and rumors will be hard to resist especially for Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. The US Post Office will come forward with more challenges to its survival and newspapers and commentators will be the subjects of news reports.

May 24
The New Moon occurs in Gemini 7:11 am CDT. Normally this is a great time for new intellectual pursuits but hold off until after May 30 when Mercury goes direct.

May 31
Mars enters Taurus until July 11. Taurus may seem to be full of bull but they are more self assured and impulsive than usual. Many a bull and certainly Aries will be completely focused on financial security. Virgo and Capricorn can use this transit to wisely accomplish goals while Scorpio is sure to be odd man out because no one agrees with their point of view. Leo and Aquarius are agitated to act but are sure to provoke the irritation of others. Take it slow especially where money matters are concerned.

Taurus, Apr 20 - May 20
Taurus is infused with poise and self-assurance, as the days of May call on bulls to handle burdens and responsibilities that others are not capable of carrying. Family matters are pressing. Mom and or Dad need your counsel and care. Dealing with bosses and any other authority persons must be done so with good sense even though you may want to thumb your nose at the chaos those people create. You are the one to carry the ball to both placate and alleviate these peoples’ insecurities. The wise decisions you make now advance your cause later in the year. Group endeavors are the best way for you to get most tasks and goals accomplished throughout May. You will have to compromise and in some cases hold back your enthusiasm at mid month due to philosophical or differences of taste. There will be times when the big picture seems overwhelming and chores are daunting. You can make the most of any situation if you take it slow and evaluate the way you want to react to any given situation.
